COMMUNITY INTEGRATION

Together we make a difference!

The Arc New London County’s Community Integration Program embodies the idea that all persons with disabilities should have the opportunity to live as valued members of our community.  Participants in the Community Integration Program contribute more than 900 volunteer hours annually by collaborating with local organizations. Some highlights of our volunteer efforts: Shredding papers for local pet shops and Humane Societies, donating clothes and supplies to Goodwill, Madonna House and United Community Center and more. CIP participants also make dog biscuits for local veterinary providers.

All activities are designed to facilitate participants’ abilities to develop community connections and form friendships with community members.

Some destinations favored by CIP participants include visits to local zoos, fire houses, aquariums, parks, libraries and farms. Activities are designed to encourage the growth of daily living skills and to provide opportunities for participants to engage as active members of our Southeastern Connecticut communities.

Our caring and creative team is always looking for new and exciting experiences to introduce to our programming options and opportunities.
