THE JANINE THEVE GALLERY

The Janine Theve Gallery

“The fragrance always remains on the hand that gives the rose.” – Gandhi

Janine Rene Theve’s life celebrates a beautiful heart. Born in spring 1991, she enthusiastically embraced her family, her friends, music, animals . . . and Block Island. At Norwich Free Academy, Janine rejoiced in her gift for art and the joy of volunteering. Through the Art Co-op program, she encouraged students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to pursue their creative dreams. Janine believed in reaching for the stars, and she inspired her friends to do the same.

At Three Rivers Community College, Janine studied healthcare. Her friendship, compassion and unconditional love were limitless, and those lucky enough to know her are forever blessed. The Janine Theve Art Gallery encourages people of all abilities to express themselves through art.

Janine passed away on September 8, 2011. The gallery in the lobby of 125 Sachem Street remembers a spirit who enriched the lives of all who knew her.
